Casual Intimate Malibu Beach Elopement

"We always knew that we wanted a small intimate beach wedding. After completing four years of school and a move from Boston to Los Angeles, we were ready for simple!

The planning process was a breeze. Due to most of our family and friends being scattered around the globe, we decided to make it an elopement with both sets of parents. One quick glance down the cliffs onto El Matador Beach, and we knew we had found the perfect back drop to our big day. Two weeks later we were saying our vows in the most perfect place, under the most perfect sunset.

One unforgettable moment was when we were sharing our vows we had written for each other. Unknowingly we had both chosen the same lyric from the same song of our favorite band as the theme!

Another favorite moment of ours came just after the vows. We saw a rock in the middle of the water that we knew would make for a really great photo. We ditched the fancy wedding hair, trashed the dress, and swam out there! It was so characteristic of the two of us, and made our day even more unique and special.

The one thing we knew we absolutely wanted was a great photographer.

We decided to go with Gina and Ryan after looking through their incredible portfolio. Their fun artistic take was a breath of fresh air from the stuffy posed look that people often associate with any formal event. We were sad that we didn't have our friends and most of our family with us, but Gina and Ryan really felt like friends, and filled a void, even while working their photography magic!" - the couple
