Meet Dennis Roy Coronel Photography a Los Angeles Wedding Film Photographer

Today, I'd like to introduce you to the talented Dennis Roy Coronel; a Los Angeles based film wedding photographer.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED AND WHAT AREAS DO YOU SERVELocated: Los Angeles | Serve: All of Southern California & Abroad.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED AND HOW DID YOU GET TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAYAs a recent Film School Graduate, I accepted a last minute gig to capture and deliver a Wedding Film. The Brides Maid of Honor reached out to my Film School , and the Career Development Department then connected me with the couple. It was so last minute and I scrambled to put together an amazing team of Filmmakers to capture their special day.

At the time, I did not know that it was overkill! I showed up with four filmmakers including myself to capture this special day! I made sure that everyone was compensated fairly and I myself took a pay cut in order to make this happen. What followed was something I will never forget and is the reason why I am in this amazing industry today.

My Daughter was recently born a little over a month prior to this wedding day. So I am already on an emotional high. As the wedding day progressed, I am finding myself fulling immersed in the raw emotions of love and joy and pure gratitude and happiness. Once the speeches came, I was a mess! I was hiding behind my camera because I didn't want my team, to see that I was wiping away tears! The way the Brides Father spoke of her, the way that others spoke of the couple. I WAS IN LOVE!!!

I immediately began brainstorming on the drive home on how I can be a part of this industry. One thing I picked up on that day, was the level of proximity the Photographers were to the couple all day. I wanted that! If I was going to walk away from Cinema, I was going to be a part of something truly special and I wanted to share that with these couples! I wanted to be right in there, all day!

So, my love for photography was rekindled and I knew I wanted to become a Wedding Photographer. The journey was and has not been easy. A lot of late nights studying the craft before I went out and shot my own wedding. I took on a lot of jobs as a secondary photographer in order to familiarize myself with the motions of the day. I wanted it to become second nature by the time I took on my own clients. I am so grateful to the photographers who took me on under their wings and let me gather the necessary experience.

I bought so many books, I took online courses, watched webinars, spoke to experienced Wedding Photographers. I already had the technical training and the degree to show for it. I knew I possessed the skills to tell a story. I needed to be sure that I absolutely had what it took to tell the Narrative of Love in one day! And so, with the help and support of so many of my peers, with countless hours studying and practicing and perfecting my craft, I am here.

As for my continued success. Honestly - Gratitude. Navigating through this amazing industry has come easy because I am so grateful for every experience, every couple and every peer I come across.

WHAT IS THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTOh my goodness! I have so many! I was literally just having a conversation with a previous bride simultaneously while I answer these questions and we were talking about her wedding day and how epic it was!

It would be easy for me to say that it was the time I was flown out to Barcelona to capture a Destination Wedding and subsequently, Rome & Paris. Or when I went to Playa Del Carmen or Campeche, Mexico.

Quite honestly, the most memorable memories, are when I see how in love my clients are. How much love and support they are surrounded by on their special day. How I am constantly reminded what bliss is and love looks like. I take something away from every single wedding. A new memory is forged that reinforces me as Wedding Photographer and serves as an affirmation that this is where I belong, and that, makes every wedding memorable and special to me.

ANY ADVICE FOR NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLESThe first step will always be to make sure that their work resonates with you and that it is an aesthetic you can value and cherish for the rest of your married lives together.

Next I strongly suggest to get to know your Wedding Photographer. This person is going to be with you for every moment of the day. You want to make sure that there is chemistry and that you feel comfortable.

What separates a good wedding photographer from an amazing wedding photographer, is their ability to care for their clientele and nurture that relationship and ultimately deliver an amazing experience alongside with amazing product.

Pricing should be the last thing you look at. If you truly love someones work, and you cannot see yourself booking another wedding photographer. You will find a way to make it work. Ultimately, our industry is a luxury industry. Your wedding is a luxury. You have chosen to have your dream wedding, with your dream vendors and ultimately the price tag that comes along with your dream photographer is what it is. It is up to you if you are willing to compromise on the quality of photography you are willing to invest in. As a photographer, I will never compromise the quality of work I deliver to a client, so that is why price should be last on your pecking order when selecting a Wedding Photographer.

SO WHAT'S NEXT? ANY BIG PLANS FOR YOUR BUSINESSOh my goodness, YES!!! Last year I decided to take a break from Destination Weddings to further focus on my local couples. This year I have decided to open up bookings for Destination Weddings once more. On top of that, I am now making myself available for Adventure Sessions, including Elopements and Intimate-Destination Weddings.

This includes visiting some of Americas most majestic National Parks for your Engagement Sessions, Elopements or Weddings, also flying abroad to exotic locations with a few of your closest friends and family.

There is a burning desire to venture out in to the world, and I want to share that with my couples, just as I wanted to share those touching moments with them when I first stepped into this industry.

an excerpt from "The Pale Blue Dot"
"It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known." -- Carl Sagan, Pale Blue Dot, 1994
