Chic San Juan Capistrano Private Estate Wedding

"My favorite wedding day moment was when my husband read his vows. We were surrounded by 200 guests, but it felt like we were the only two people there in that moment. I had no idea what to expect from him. I'm loud and talk way too much, and he's the opposite. He's much more soft spoken and shy, but he had me in tears as well as everyone else. Hearing him tell me what he loved about me and the promises he made for our future reaffirmed everything I felt for him. I also loved the dancing! My family broke out into a family dance after my father/daughter dance and opened up the dance floor to everyone. We had these glow up light sticks that everyone was jumping around with. It was AWESOME!" -bride & groom

Wedding Planning Advice
1) Relax. It's only one day. It's a beautiful day, but not worth stressing out over. This is advice I heard over and over but failed to actually apply.

2) DIY crafts are not necessarily cheaper! I had The Event Loft handle most of everything, but I was adamant about doing my own favors, chalkboard quotes, blankets, etc to make the wedding more "me". I was pinning like no other on Pinterest and had a long list of things I planned to do for the wedding. I thought DIY would same me money, but it was still so expensive because everything adds up and it took up so much time. I was slaving away the entire 2 weeks leading up to the wedding, and my house was a sweatshop. Thank goodness for my girlfriends and mom who helped out. Even then though, it was way too stressful. I wish I just relaxed and enjoyed my last few weeks of being engaged rather than tying ribbons and making things.

Their honeymoonMy husband tore his Achilles a month before the wedding so we postponed our honeymoon. He was in a cast up until 2 days before the wedding, and as you can see from the photos, he was in a walking boot. I was just so happy he got the cast off right in time and didn't have to use crutches. He was a little wobbly at times and it was a bit painful, but nothing a couple Long Islands couldn't fix :) He just started physical therapy a month ago so we're hoping he recovers soon. We plan to go to Vietnam and Thailand though!
