'Since we are both architectural designers, we approached our wedding as a project of ourselves and for ourselves, to share with loved ones. We really thought through every detail and designed each one together. Being able to envision, design and make these creations together with love and thoughtfulness for our own wedding brought us closer together and made the reward of our wedding day even greater.
As a wedding gift, our dear friends who run a fabrication shop in LA gave us full access to their machinery which we used to create our backdrop. It became the center piece of our ceremony and reception complimented by all of the other pieces we created. We designed and made everything that we could put our personal touch on: our backdrop, seating chart, table & floral design, dance floor light fixtures, photo-booth, table numbers, guestbook, cake topper AND we even designed Sheena's wedding band together. We were ecstatic to see it all come together surrounded by our friends and family on a truly beautiful day in Descanso Gardens. There had been concerns about rain even up to the day of our wedding, but we went for it , opting out of the dreaded tent option deciding that it would be better to experience the garden in the rain than in a tent. We were fortunate not to have to experience either as perfect glowing sunlight filtered through the canopy of oak trees above us during our ceremony. While we were off taking our couples photos during cocktail hour, our guests were greeted with a brilliant rainbow above the nearby San Gabriel Mountains" -from the Bride & Groom
