Charming Morro Bay Engagement Session from Anna Delores Photography

"We wanted to have fun with our engagement shoot, so we incorporated one of our most favorite things... wine! We love going to this little wine bar, Stax, in Morro Bay. We thought it would the perfect place to start with a little vino to loosen us up. Then we walked around on the Embarcadero a bit and took some photos around the boat docks. As the sun started to set, we went down to the bluffs in Morro Bay. We walked down to the beach to get a great view of the rock. Emily, our photographer, was amazing! She took some awesome photos and is so so creative. We really had a great time! Even Mike mentioned how much fun he had that he was not expecting. It really helps when you can laugh with your photographer and feel very comfortable being goofy!" - the couple

Their love story: Mike and I met while he was working in a tasting room in Paso Robles. I was visiting the winery with my Mom, my Dad and my sister, and he was the one who was pouring the wine for us. It was a very busy weekend there but I could tell he was particularly interested in helping us and was very talkative. We realized that we both graduated from Cal Poly around the same year and were the same major, but we had never met. As we were leaving, Mike gave me his business card and told me to let him know next time I'm back in the area and he will give us a tour of the winery. I took that as a subtle hint, and sent him an email after I had A LOT more wine and built up the courage. We exchanged a few emails back and forth, and were soon texting and talking on the phone. A month later Mike took me out on our first date in Irvine and after a few more times of hanging out, we were in a relationship. We did a long distance relationship from San Diego to Paso Robles for about a year, before I decided to move back to San Luis Obispo to be closer to him.

How he proposed: Mike planned a scavenger hunt around Yosemite Valley for all of my family... Mom, Dad, Sister, Brother, Sister-in-Law, Niece and Nephews. I thought that my Mom had planned it, being that she's a second grade teacher and its totally something she would do. Little did I know, they were all in on the plan. We had an awesome day driving around the valley and taking photos of various landmarks. The last clue of the scavenger hunt was to take a picture in front of Half Dome. Mike and I walked out in a meadow so that Half Dome was in the background, and that's when he got down on one knee. I was so surprised but it was such an amazing proposal. I'm not much of a romantic, but he definitely swept me off of my feet with this one. We celebrated with a bottle of Dom Perignon, which was delicious!
