"To be honest, this was the first time we had done anything like this. At first, we were both extremely nervous about being in front of the camera. However, our photographer, Ashley Paige, gave us great direction so the pictures turned out wonderfully. She encouraged us to be ourselves and have fun with each other and that seemed to bring out our personalities more. Ultimately, we give most of the credit to our photographer. Ashley made us feel comfortable in our own skin which allowed us to have that natural look in the photos. We chose to take pictures at Three Arch Bay beach where I grew up. We have shared many memories on that beach and consider it our secret special spot. Lucky for us, Three Arch Bay Beach is one of the most beautiful backdrops in Orange County." -the couple
The proposal: I love Christmas; everything Christmas. Some might say I am festive to a fault, if there is such a thing. Knowing this, Max knew that the only natural time to propose was around Christmas. This just added an extra layer of festivity to the holiday season. Max knew of no better place than the lobby of the famed Roosevelt hotel in New Orleans. He attended law school in the city and frequented the hotel during the Christmas season for their elaborate display. The early 20th century restored hotel lobby is lined with fresh christmas trees and ornate decorations. When we went down there for a trip, Max dropped to one knee and popped the question. It was so romantic and the best Christmas gift a girl in love could ask for.
About their upcoming wedding: Our wedding is now set for July 9, 2016 at the Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara, CA. We originally planned a destination wedding in Maui on September 26, 2015. However, my mom was tragically diagnosed with cancer after we set the original wedding date. With this news, we decided to push back the wedding until she is done with treatment so we can give all our attention and focus to helping her recover. So, the planning started over with new objectives one of which was to have the wedding closer to home. While starting our venue search again, every picture we would find and love was at the Bacara. It quickly became the obvious choice for us and we are so excited to share our special day with everyone.
