"We went to Wayfarer's Chapel in Palos Verdes. I asked Sarah if we could go there because originally I wanted to get married there but the logistics didn't work out. It is such a beautiful place, and Sarah is so talented and made it fun.

Their love story: Cody and I originally met in elementary school. I moved to his school in 5th grade and became friends with Cody. He was always so nice and a fun guy to be around, whether we were in class or playing handball at recess. I became good friends with a girl named Tiffani, who is still my best friend to this day. Tiffani and Cody grew up together, often being babysat by each other's moms.
I had a birthday party in 6th grade, and Cody was 1 of 2 brave boys who showed up to hang out with a bunch of girls. Two weeks after my birthday party, Cody moved to northern California for his dad's job.
Fast forward 10 years, my friend Tiffani sees Cody on Facebook and says, "Cort, I found Cody on Facebook, remember that kid?" So of course we looked through his photos and wanted to see what he had been up to. I liked what I saw! I saw a guy who seemed sweet, loved Jesus, and had nice arms! He was also going to school at CSU Long Beach so he was no longer in Northern California.
I started to talk to him over Facebook on and off for a couple months as friends to catch up. I told him if he was ever in the area, he should stop by my work to say hello. One night at work he walks in and I was taken aback! He actually took me up on my offer and just showed up. I was so happy to see him after 10 years, and he was super cute!
Soon after, Tiffani contacted him and set up a hangout for us three to hang out. Well, the time came to leave and Tiffani was feeling "sick." I asked Cody if he still wanted me to come, and he said sure. (Tiffani later told me she was not sick and was trying to set us up!)
Cody and I had a great time just talking and catching up. We even went out to dinner and he paid, but just as friends. The next hang out was pretty much a double date with Tiffani and her boyfriend. We had a great time and there was definitely something there. That day, he asked me out on a real date to dinner in Laguna Beach.
The rest is history but Laguna is a special place for us - first date, first kiss, engagement, and wedding all being there.
